2019 was the 50th Anniversary of NYC and WorldPride celebrations and events took place throughout the five boroughs during the entire month of June. I worked in conjunction with NYC & Co. to create the branding for this landmark event. We reimagined the Pride rainbow in shards of kaleidoscopic color. The prismatic patterns expressing the multifaceted nature of NYC—a place like no other, where no two people are alike. Coloring outside the lines of the chunky NYC logo, the mark embodied the defining elements of NYC Pride: shattered conformity, infinite individuality and uncontainable Pride.
As part of a partnership with Mastercard, we assembled a tool kit with easy recommendations to help you businesses and tourism partners play an even greater role in Pride. A suite of custom assets showcasing the shattered rainbow motif was created that included window clings with the message “Acceptance Matters" gender-neutral restroom signs, wearable accessories and social media templates.
